~ Located in Isle of Wight County, part of Virginia's
Hampton Roads ~
Mansion
on Main stands proudly on
the corner of Main St. and Church St,
From North of the James River Bridge headed South on Route 17 (Toward Route 10/258)... At the 2ND stop light after crossing the Bridge, (you will see signs for both St. Luke's Church and Route 10), turn right onto Route 32/258 (Brewers Neck Blvd). Travel on Route 32/258 for about 3 miles. It will intersect Benn's Church Blvd. (on the corner will be a chain gas station, on the left will be Benn's Church). Take a right on Route 10 West/258 - Benn’s Church Blvd. Continue straight (about 4 stoplights); even when the road forks right at a "Y" intersection with a Smithfield water tower (with ham graphic) in sight. At the next light after the "Y" intersection, you will make a right onto Main Street in the Historic District. Continue along until you reach the next light at the corner of Main Street and Church Streets. The Mansion is on your left across the street. From Norfolk airport or other areas East via I-264 (using Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel to James River Bridge) Pick up Interstate 64 from a major road near the Norfolk Airport. It is easier to skirt to Newport News/Hampton than to go through the Norfolk to Portsmouth tunnels and wind your way into Smithfield. Find 64 WEST and cross the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel (you will be heading north). After going through the tunnel, take the exit for the JAMES RIVER BRIDGE. You should be on Bridge Road. Cross the James River Bridge and stay on Route 258 for about 8 miles. |
